Most Cheapest Gaming Laptop Review 2020 [Buyer Guides]

Gaming laptops are quite popular nowadays. Most of the people game on pc, but the gaming laptop market is getting more and more competitive with each passing day. The main thing is the price point which some of the companies are hitting now is mind-blowing. Now you can get a good cheap gaming laptop at $800. One of the best and cheap gaming laptops is the Lenovo IdeaPad L340.

Lenovo IdeaPad L340:

Lenovo releases a couple of laptops every year, but their IdeaPad lineup has generally improved much over the past years. Their newest addition is the IdeaPad L340, which can also be considered a cheap gaming laptop.

Casing:

The body of this laptop is made up of plastic. But the finishing of this laptop is such that it presents itself with a brushed metal look. You don’t expect the aluminum build at this price point. The build of this laptop is alright. The display has narrow bezels around it. The only bad part of the build is its top portion, which can get a lot of fingerprints on it. This might ruin the whole experience, but you can put the skin to avoid the fingerprints.

Weight:

This laptop is one of the lightest gaming laptops in the market. It’s a great thing because it allows you to carry it around easily without getting tired.

Connectivity:

As we have talked about the case, let us also touch upon connectivity. This laptop offers the most commonly used ports on the left side. There are 2 USB 3.1 ports, USB-C port, HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, and Gigabit Internet. One of the best things is the gigabit internet, which offers insanely high download and upload speeds.

The bad thing about the laptop is the lack of a thunderbolt port and a card reader.

Network:

The Lenovo laptop has a Gigabit Internet, which is a great addition to a laptop. Content creators and YouTubers need this to get high uploading speeds. There is also a Wi-Fi module on this laptop, but the speeds are not that impressive as HP Omen 15.

Accessories:

When you open the box for the first time, you only get the laptop and the power adapter with it. You can find various other accessories for this laptop on Lenovo’s website. Here is the more collection of best 2 in 1 laptops under 600.

Maintenance:

Getting into this laptop is simple as you only have to remove the bottom screws to get inside the laptop. Upon opening, you will be able to see the RAM slots, which are replaceable. You can also change the SSD. The fans are also easily visible and can easily be cleaned if they get dirty. There is much excessive space on the laptop, which could have been used for a 2.5” SATA Drive, but there is no port on the motherboard.

Keyboard:

The keyboard is also a key thing in a gaming laptop. This keyboard comes with a short key travel which makes typing on this laptop very good. The only problem with typing on this keyboard is the up and down arrow keys, which are way too small when compared to the others. It makes it harder to type.

There is also backlighting on this keyboard. This is a huge thing for people who want to type in the dark. It has a blue backlight, and there are two adjustment levels.

Touchpad:

The touchpad on the Lenovo is based on a click pad design, as there are no buttons on the trackpad. You don’t expect a touchpad like a MacBook in this price range. The touchpad is of average build quality, and there is a rattling noise whenever it is pressed upon. The mouse buttons work when pressure is applied to them.

One major problem is that fingertips, when moves on this touchpad, are met with great resistance. It ruins the whole experience of using the touchpad.

Display:

Lenovo IdeaPad L340 comes with an IPS panel with 1920*1080 pixels. The display sharpness is good for a gaming laptop. The brightness levels of this laptop are quite average for gaming laptops in this range. It is not that bright, but it gets the work done. There is also the TN option available.

The display is a matte surface and thus provides a great gaming experience because it can also be used outside.

Performance:

The Lenovo IdeaPad is a gaming laptop and provides some of the best processors with the best GPUs in the price range. Its performance is great, and you should be able to run anything that you throw at it.

Processor:

It can be equipped with either a 9th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7. But in our opinion, the i5 is enough for most people, and they won’t feel the difference between the two processors. The Core i5 is a Quad-Core processor with a base clock of 2.4 and a boost clock of 4.1 GHz.

The performance of a processor is very dependent on the cooling solution of the laptop. The CPU performance of this laptop is quite good, and it doesn’t throttle that much even under heavy loads.

Graphics:

There is a GTX 1650 installed on this laptop. You can either choose the 3 or 4 gig variants. This GPU is good at this price point. It can run most of the modern games at medium to high settings. But don’t expect to get PC like a performance because this is a budget gaming laptop. If you are on battery power, then expect to have a 14% decrease in the performance.

Gaming:

As this is a gaming laptop, i5, combined with the GTX 1650 runs modern games at 1080p. You can run The Witcher 3 at the highest settings and still get more than 30 FPS. This is a great thing for a laptop because that game is very demanding.

Storage:

This laptop only comes with an SSD. You can configure it from 512 GB to a 2 TB SSD. The speed of the SSD is also quite fast.

Conclusion:

If you are in the market for a good gaming laptop, then the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 is the one to go for. With its cheap price tag and a great combination of a processor and graphics card, it is capable of running everything. This laptop is really a Bang for Buck device due to its awesome performance.
